“Explore: The Future”: Who are the experts at the final programme?

On 22 July 2017, the final group of JUST DILIJAN IT! 2017 gets underway, “Explore: The Future”. We’ve invited a number of outstanding experts and experienced teachers who, together with the kids, will search for answers to complex questions, study modern technologies, turn to the past and delve into the future to see what it holds in store for us.

Responsible for the “Film and Photography” lab is Arseniy Tishin. He’s a graduate of VGIK cinematography faculty, Moscow. He applies his talents as cameraman, photographer and composer in many different areas, and participates in festivals and theatrical projects.

Vitaly Zabuga will once again be in charge of the “Robotics” laboratory, teaching the subject entirely in English. During the programme, he’ll not only show how to build and programme robots, but also reveal what’s going on in the world of robotics, what new things they can do, and what’s happening in the universe of hi-tech.

Benoît Michaud, a French filmmaker, screenwriter, theatre and film actor, creator of the quick[n]dirty film project in Paris, graduate of the Paris School of New Communication Methods L’EFAP and studio Muller theatrical courses, will continue to lead the “Theatre” lab. He’ll teach the kids how to play, properly carry themselves on the stage, make movies, and help unlock new talents.

A uniquely interesting biology course in the “Natural Sciences” lab of the “Explore: Future” programme (22 July – 4 August) will be led by Marina Granovskaya, a research scientist with wide ranging experience. She’ll talk with the participants of JUST DILIAJN IT! about complex but extremely interesting things in a simple way and from a biological point of view. She’ll cover happiness, faith in your own strength, how to learn to talk to a friend so they will listen and understand, breakthrough technologies in medicine, and much more.

Heading up the “Sports” lab will once again be our expert Timofey Kudryavtsev, an experienced football coach.

Valery and Natalia Cherkashin, who will be running the “Art” lab, will teach the kids all about the arts, installations, creativity, expression, performance and much more. Valery is a well-known artist, photographer and performer, while Natalia is a designer and teacher. Both are frequent participants in international festivals, exhibitions and performances.

The “Intellectual Games” laboratory will be led by Sergey Korneev, author of scientific and popular programmes for children. Along with Sergey, the kids will be able to create their own games, quests and projects.

The “Humanitarian Research” lab will be the responsibility of Petr Rakhmanov. He’ll help the kids to understand the structure of the world and our society, find out what is needed to conquer new lands, and also begin preparing for an interplanetary journey. Petr is an experienced teacher of history, economics and ethnology, and regularly takes part in various research expeditions.

In the “Computer Technology” lab, Andrey Ustyuzhanin will teach the participants how data mining can help us to see what lies in store for us in the future, how algorithms can be used for scientific discovery, and how to look at complex data to be able to see into the future. Andrey Ustyuzhanin, PhD, is a graduate of MIPT in Applied Mathematics and Physics, head of joint research projects of Yandex and CERN, head of the laboratory of big data analysis techniques at the HSE.

The fourth programme at JUST DILIJAN IT! – “Explore: The Future” – will take place from 22 July to 4 August 2017 on UWC Dilijan international school campus in Armenia. The group will be run in English and is for children and adolescents aged 10 to 16 years of age.
